Rain Forest Hike

We did a rain forest hike to a hidden waterfall. They usually have about 12 people, but it ended up that just the 2 of us signed up. It was great, because we could ask so many questions. The hike itself wasn't too challenging, although it was warm. Our guide explained a lot about the flora & fauna of Hawaii.

Some fellow hikers found this little guy. I believe he is a Jackson's chameleon. Cute, whatever he is.

It's hard to describe just how big some of the leaves were. The pictures don't really show the scale.

I really liked the wild chickens. They were cool, and really pretty. I fed one from my hand - bad idea!

I couldn't get over how tangled the branches and roots were.

These roots looked like the feet of an ancient dinosaur or bird to me.

Our guide. He surfs every day.
